Just over 12 months ago Di Cray and Ric Martin visited the Shepherd Centre in Atalnta, Georgia, USA.

Shepherd Center is one of the top rehabilitation hospitals in the world, specializing in medical treatment, research and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury or brain injury.

We spent a week within the Shepherd Centre hospital / rehab facility touring and and meeting staff, clients and benefactors. It was nothing short of amazing - all of it.

We were also provided with information, manuals and books that simply do not exist in Australia - specifically dealing with SCI rehab, disharge and post discharge personal care etc.

The Shepherd Centre in its own right is a powerful source of information and here is a link for you to explore.

The City of Melbourne Disability Advisory Committee is currently seeking people with professional and/or personal experience in disability access issues to join this advisory committee.
